The Minister of Trade and Industry, Hykmete Bajrami, hosted at the meeting the representative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) led by Holger Muent, Director for Western Balkan and Elena Petrovska, EBRD Head of Office in Kosovo.
The meeting focused on identifying areas in which MTI and EBRD will continue cooperation in order to improve the business environment, access to finance for enterprises and promote investment in the Republic of Kosovo.
Minister Bajrami, emphasized the importance of the projects led by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, as is the establishment of economic zones, which affect the infrastructure improvement and attracting new investment; products certification with quality standard as an important project which enables local producers to be more competitive in international markets, especially now after the opportunities offered with the SAA, etc.
Also, she informed interlocutors for tourism development potentials in Kosovo through various projects in which the EBRD can assist.
On the other hand, the EBRD representatives thanked the Ministry of Trade and Industry for cooperation and expressed their interest to support MTI in financing of capital projects that affect the economic development of Kosovo.
