The Minister of Trade and Industry Hykmete Bajrami, took part at the promotion of Francophone Business Club in Kosovo.
In her speech, Minister Bajrami said that "this is a good indication for the work of Government of the Republic of Kosovo, where francophone businesses are organized into a business club, and with whom we will be very open and discuss further advancing and improvement of business environment.”
Further, minister Bajrami stated that the business environment in Kosovo is being improved, and that we are working continuously with all governments’ institutions to eliminate bureaucracies, to fight corruption, harmonize our laws with EU legislation, and to establish an appropriate infrastructure to businesses. She also said that the implementation Stabilization and Association Agreement has made our country a strategic market for foreign investment.
Minister Bajrami by emphasizing the government engagement on improving business environment of the country, and continued by saying that “The Government in cooperation with donor community are trying to support local companies and these with foreign ownership to certify their products and become as much as competitive in international markets. We also have very favorable fiscal policies in place, and we are continuing to invest in economic zones, where up today we have licensed eight economic zones in different municipalities.
“We have approved the Law on Strategic Investments, which enables the Government of Kosovo to enter into direct negotiations with potential investors who possess a strategic plan to invest in Kosovo”, said minister Bajrami.
At the end, she mentioned several sectors where the Government is very interested to develop them, such as: maintain tourism, Brezovica project, mines and minerals, processing industry, information and communication technology, textile industry and metal processing industry.
