Minister of Trade and Industry, Hykmete Bajrami, participated in the roundtable "First anniversary of
the SAA: Lessons learned and next steps", organized by the American Chamber of Commerce.
Before those present, Minister Bajrami spoke about the results achieved by MTI and its departments
regarding the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement. In the framework of
presenting the achieved results, Minister Bajrami said that much has been done in informing businesses
about the benefits and criteria of the SAA.
Minister Bajrami emphasized that, in order to have an easier access of local products to the EU market,
a project for certification of products with quality standards is being implemented, with 97 products
certified so far. In this regard, Minister Bajrami stressed that a loan is being negotiated for capacity
building of the quality infrastructure within MTI, the purpose of which is to help institutions become
members in international organizations and consequently, Kosovo's certificates would be recognized.
Further, Minister Bajrami said that there was constant cooperation with the business community on the
new fiscal package, whereby we have 22 measures included in this package. Concrete steps have been
taken to ease access to finance for enterprises that we believe will increase economic activity, said
Minister Bajrami.
Also, Minister Bajrami underlined that the Ministry of Trade and Industry has enabled the participation
of different companies at fairs, resulting in conclusion of different export contracts.
