Today, the minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani met with the World Bank delegation, led by Mr. Marco Mantovanelli – Resident Representative of the World Bank for Kosovo and Macedonia
The purpose of this introduction meeting was to discuss and confirm the priorities of the cooperation agenda between the two institutions as well as the World Bank projects that provide effective support to Kosovo institutions. In particular, the project "Competitiveness and readiness for exports" was discussed, main goal of which is capacity building in quality infrastructure; comprehensive reform of Kosovo inspections and increase competitiveness and exports of Kosovar enterprises.
Minister Hasani informed the World Bank delegation on engagements of the Ministry of Trade and Industry in intensifying supportive activities to private sector development, improvement of doing business environment and elimination of administrative barriers for foreign investors and businesses in general. Minister Hasani expressed his readiness for the efficient implementation of these projects but also sought support in identifying and designing new projects that could be implemented together with the World Bank, and which will effect in economic development, reduce imports, increase competitiveness and exports as well as will create new jobs.
On the other hand, WB leader for Kosovo, Mantovanelli congratulated Minister Hasani for his new assignment and expressed his and the World Bank readiness to continue the inter-institutional cooperation between the World Bank and the Government of Kosovo in implementation of strategic projects for Kosovo institutions.
