The Minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani is staying in France where he is participating at the conference on “Competitiveness and Private Sector Development”, attended by ministers from different countries of South Eastern Europe.
Accompanied by Kosovo Ambassador to France, Qëndrim Gashi, Hasani it this conference thanked the organizer of the conference, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), for their continued support for Kosovo's economic development.
Hasani said that the recommendations that Kosovo receives from international organizations, such as the OECD, through various studies, and through participation in trainings and various workshops organized by these institutions, through various analyzes and reports they make in close cooperation with the Kosovo institutions, is an important contribution according to him.
"These recommendations have been in our benefit and we continue to play a key role in developing and implementing policy recommendations, institutional structure, legal framework, rules and regulation reforms that we have taken during our post-war era," said Hasani.
Minister Hasani also mentioned the facilities that brings CEFTA, which have facilitated the liberalization of trade in goods and services in the region.
"As far as trade is concerned, it is worth mentioning the support provided by OECD and CEFTA countries in helping us further in region trade liberalization. In particular, the CEFTA series of issues, which addressed very important issues in the field of trade, such as the elimination of non-tariff barriers, trade integration, FDI inflows, intellectual property rights and so on, which have proved to be very useful in eliminating non-tariff barriers and supporting the liberalization of trade in goods and services in our region. Such an analysis helped us to see where progress has been made and where is needed more work to be done, "said Hasani.
Hasani expressed his readiness and commitment to continue this close cooperation with the European Commission and organizations such as the OECD.
"We welcome such publications from the OECD, because they provide the technical knowledge necessary to achieve the maximum potential benefits from trade liberalization. We are very determined to continue to cooperate closely with the European Commission and OECD organizations in relation to all trade-related issues, “stated Hasani.
