The Minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani, said that the Government of Kosovo is working every day more and more to make free trade with less barriers.
During the opening of the international fair "Expokos" in Pristina, Hasani said that since he took the mandate as minister they are working on legislation frame to make Kosovo a competitive market."It is good when such fairs are organized, because many foreign companies are present and this means that bridges can be created. Such fairs connects companies in between, while, we as the Government of Kosovo are doing every day more to enable free trade and remove barriers, tariffs and non-tariffs so that Kosovo can become a competitive market, "said Minister Hasani.
Minister pointed out that the decision taken by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, shows clearly that the country development is our priority.
"It is worth to mention that in a moment of my appointment as Minister, I have been very interested to build and orientate the legislation toward crating Kosovo society into producing society, because Kosovo needs to produce even more. Every day through the decision we are taking, we are creating business facilities, which is a clear sign that shows our orientation toward country’s development. Duty free and withdrawal of excise tax for production line and spare parts shows that we are committed to give to our business space to compete in the local market."
Minister Hasani talked about the Kosovo advantages and conditions which is offering to foreign investors.
"Kosovo has many advantages, starting with the young generation, the modern infrastructure that is being created and still continues. All of these are good preconditions to invest in Kosovo. It is worth pointing out that the Doing Business Report, published by the World Bank, ranges our country as one of the most reforming countries in terms of doing business, where Kosovo is ranged in tenth position. This shows that we have made significant improvement and this need to be used,” said Hasani.
Hasani said that reforms in legislation will continue and make Kosovo an ideal country for doing business.
"Even this year we are continuing legal reforms. The law on Business Organization is being rejected due to gender quota, for what I strongly believe that the Assembly very soon will promulgate it, and then the Kosovo will show even beater progress in doing business.”
Minister called to foreign businesses to came and invest in Kosovo, and use the opportunity which has created the law on Strategic Investment.
"I hope even during this year we will have progress, since we have bring into the life the Law on Strategic Investment, we call foreign investors if they are interested to come to Kosovo. Very soon we will hold an international conference with foreign investors to whom we will tell that we have 11 economic zones where may can come and invest, "said Minister Hasani.
