Slovenes interested to invest in energy through waste recycling

The minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani, hosted in the meeting a delegation of Slovenian businessmen who expressed their interest to invest in Kosovo in waste recycling.

Minister Hasani informed them on investment conditions that Kosovo offers to foreign investors and for the Strategic Investment Law that provides a number of facilitations.

"As far as the ministry I lead, it is in charge to create conditions for investors and we are the carriers of the Law on Strategic Investment. This law defines that any investment who invests over 10 million euros can receive the Strategic Investor status. Upon receiving this status it is under our responsibility the progress of all procedures, and we are obliged to create all the conditions within the legal deadline, while we also have a legal obligation to suggest them the location where they can place their activity," explained Hasani.

The Minister pointed out that Kosovo has taken a numerous fiscal reforms that enable easier business operation.

Slovenian investors expressed their interest to invest in Kosovo in the field of waste recycling and hazardous materials.

The technology which is expected to come in Kosovo is the latest technology, and is invented two years ago and is the one that is used in Switzerland and is special for the disposal of hazardous waste.

The technology works with very high temperatures, 1200 degrees Celsius, and burned waste is transformed into gas and produces energy.

It is worth to mention that the machinery has past all testings’ and is licensed in the European Union. It is ecological and environmentally friendly machinery. The investment is expected to be over 10 million euros depending on the raw materials.
