Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Fadil Arifi attended the Information Session for Grants in the field of cultural and adventure tourism

This event was organized by the Trade Division and supported from the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), with the aim of providing detailed information on cultural and adventure tourism grants to be awarded by the RCC under the project “Triple P Project”.

In his introductory remarks, the Deputy Minister thanked the RCC for their continuous support provided to the tourism sector.

The Deputy Minister, in his opening remarks stated as follows:

Surely, as you all already know, Kosovo has abundant potentials for development of cultural and adventure tourism; therefore projects such as “Triple P” are more than welcomed to us, considering that there is a significant need of developing different touristic products.

Mr. Fadil Arifi, inter alia, stated that: The development of touristic products was, and still is, one of MTI’s goals, whereby together with the support of donor organizations we have made it possible for new products to be available in the market today. Nonetheless, the need for support is a lot greater, therefore the grants provided by the “Triple P Project” will make it easier for touristic businesses and other organizations to expand their touristic offers and, simultaneously increase the number of employees.

Whereby, he further stated that:

The tourism contribution in competitiveness and stability will be increased. Also, tourism will contribute to the state’s image, and the pride and confidence of the population.

Representatives from all municipalities of Kosovo, Tourism Association and NGOs, along with tour operators with touristic offers in Kosovo, representatives of Touristic Information Offices, and other organizations, were invited to this event, which was attended by around 50 people.

The RCC representative informed the attendees regarding the topic of cultural tourism grants, the possibilities of adventure tourism, application procedures, and the deadlines and other details. The first call for grants is open until 16th of August, whereas in the next three years there will be other calls as well.

The RCC informed the attendees that Non-Government Organization, Non-Profit Organizations, Associations or Foundations will be eligible to apply for grants.  All information and the application for grants are accessible in the link: https://www.rcc.int/tourismgrants
