Minister of Trade and Industry Bajram Hasani met the Mayor of Kamenica, Qëndron Kastrati, where they discussed about the establishing the Economic Zone and the support of this municipality.
Minister Hasani said that if the procedure proceeds, Kamenica will become with the Economic Zone in 2019.
The Minister considers that the creation of Economic Zones is vital for business functioning and generating new jobs.
"We talked about the municipality difficulties, duties and the development. We are firm that whenever we can to support businesses and create opportunities and space in developing their business activity.
One of the tools to be created is the economic zones, because to call investors this is the first step, so this way will be given space and the opportunity to them. Also in the municipality of Kamenica, the Anamorava region we are interested to create an Economic Zone, which will be in disposal to local businesses. We expect from the municipality and we agreed with the mayor to find the location and bring the documentation to us so we could start with the expropriation phase and announcement of the Economic Zone. If the procedures go ahead, we as the MTI are committed to start the investment in 2019. This is good news for Kamenica, because businesses will be able to operate better and this Economic Zone will create new jobs, which the most need Kamenica municipality and Kosovo”, said Minister Hasani.
Mayor of Kamenica, Qëndron Kastrati, said that the municipality is ready to follow all the procedures for creating an economic zone and appreciated the readiness of Minister Hasani to assist this municipality.
"I would like to thank Minister Bajram Hasani for this visit and the cooperation. We informed him about the situation in Kamenica and discussed how the ministry's interest is to assist local producers, which directly affects the development of the Kamenica Municipality. We also discussed the issue of economic zones because we are one of the municipalities that are closer to the European market, for what minister promised to us that we will have the ministry’s support. Minister Hasani showed that he has the will and the desire to help us. We will follow the expropriation procedures. The Minister told us that he has the readiness and the desire, and that the ministry will support our municipality, "said Kastrati.
