The Ministry of Trade and Industry in the course of Market Surveillance and Consumer Protection, today, has conducted inspections in bakeries in the region of Prizren.
Metrological supervision on the weight of bread, at the same time, market inspectorate has supervised the declaration at the points of sale.
Director General of the Metrology Agency, Ferki Fejza, together with the director of the Market Inspectorate within MTI, went in the field to closely look at the supervision.
Fejza said that the purpose of metrological surveillance activities has been the enforceability of the law in some bakeries and bread has been weighed as well as verification of weighing scales used in these economic entities have been carried out.
Fejza has also shown that the metrological supervision of prepackaging (import and domestic products) has been conducted.
“The Metrology Agency of Kosovo has conducted metrological supervision activities. The purpose of these activities was to oversee the law enforcement aspect of metrology where we started overseeing the grain products in the bakeries in the region of Prizren. We continued with the metrological supervision of the import products in supermarkets supported by Market Inspectorate within the Ministry of Trade and Industry", said Fejza.
Whereas, Lulzim Syla, Chief Inspector of the Market Inspectorate within the Ministry of Trade and Industry said they supervised the declaration in the bakeries by comparing with what is written and the bread sold.
“We have been inspecting in five different bakeries and the aim was to compare what was in written, is it 500 grams, and is it sold 500 grams. The purpose was to protect the consumer. These five visits have resulted that everyone adheres to the law and were within the parameters. We have also visited an economic operator who deals with the sale of bread, where there has been no declination and measures have been taken against that entity. MTI and municipal Inspectorates are doing their job and we are implementing the order of Minister Shala. We have also looked at the inscriptions Kosovo and Metohija, where seemingly all the goods have been drawn. We will continue in the following days in other cities, where we will be present 24 hours in consumer protection. Oversight is becoming 100 percent for every commodity coming from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that the government's decision is implemented precisely", said Syla.
This activity will continue in the coming days, where we will conduct metrological supervision and the declination of all products at the points of sale.
