Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala, has signed a cooperation agreement for the project “Economic Park for Businesses from Diaspora in Malisheva”, together with the Ministry of Diaspora and the Albanian-German Business Union.
Minister Shala said that today is a very important day, because for the first time, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is making the first step for approaching Diaspora investors by concrete work.
"As they have contributed to the economic and social well-being of our country for decades, as they have contributed to the liberation of Kosovo, it is now time for Diaspora businesses to contribute to economic development as well. It is the first time that the Kosovo Government offers concrete opportunities to Diaspora business representatives for investments in Kosovo. This is only the first step and according to the requirements of businesses we will also offer other facilities so that we can do our country's economic development together, "said Minister Shala.
According to him, the diaspora has an undeniable role in building Kosovo for decades, therefore if diaspora wasn`t available, Kosovo wouldn`t be as it is.
"Thankful forever for what you have done for Kosovo. But now is the time for the Government of your country to create conditions for you to invest your capital in Kosovo, influencing economic growth and opening up new jobs," said Shala.
Minister Shala announced that MTI will be the address of Diaspora businesses' for any concerns at any time they need.
"The Ministry of Trade and Industry will be your address 356 days of the year for addressing your concerns, if you have, and we will work hard that diaspora businesses have the conditions and opportunities to work in Kosovo "said Minister Shala.
The purpose of this cooperation agreement is the realization of the project "Business Park for Businesses from Diaspora in Malisheva" and the Ministry of Trade and Industry promises that the property of the Economic Park will be used for Diaspora investors, the surface in the first phase of 15 hectares, with a growth potential of 40 hectares for 99 years. MTI pledges to finance the construction of infrastructure in the Economic Park.
