The Minister of Trade and Industry, Vesel Krasniqi, together with the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo (AmCham), Arian Zeka, held today a virtual meeting with business representatives, with whom they talked about their situation created as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister Krasniqi thanked Mr. Zeka for organizing this virtual forum, emphasizing that it will be the voice of all businesses in the Republic of Kosovo.
He stressed that within the measures for preventing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, among other things, the possibility of extending the schedule of gastronomy businesses and enabling the "Take away" service for 24 hours is being considered.
Also, Minister Krasniqi said that after voting the Law on Economic Recovery in the Assembly of Kosovo, the Government of Kosovo will have the possibility to help businesses for coping with this situation.
He stressed that the focus of the Ministry of Trade and Industry will be the protection of local consumers and producers.
On his part, the President of the American Chamber of Commerce, Arian Zeka, said that he will always be a supportive voice for businesses in order to provide solutions to their challenges in this pandemic situation.
He stressed that the Economic Recovery Package has received a satisfactory rating, but that it is not enough, as the end of the pandemic is currently not known.
At the meeting was also discussed about the implementation of the Law on Strategic Investments, in which case Minister Krasniqi said that an inter-ministerial commission has been created on this issue and at the same time he promised support for all strategic investors who express willingness to invest in our country.
