In the Kosovo Business Registration Agency (KBRA), during the period 1 January-31 August 2020, 6,039 new businesses were registered, while 7,472 businesses made changes, and 800 businesses were closed at their request.
All procedures for registering a business are performed in accordance with Law on Business Organizations.
The total number of processed cases during this period is 14,311 cases, such as:
• In the category Individual Business are registered 2,481 businesses;
• In the category Change in business changes were made in 3,379 businesses;
• In the category Dissolution of Business, by the request of the businesses were closed 722 individual businesses;
• In the category General Partnership are registered 3 businesses, whereas changes were made in 57 businesses, whereas dissolution were 6;
• In the category Limited Liabilities Companies are registered 3,517 businesses, whereas changes have taken place in 3,883 businesses and 67 dissolution;
• In the category Joint Stock Companies are registered 4 businesses, changes have taken place in 97 businesses, and no dissolution of businesses;
• In the category Foreign Company- branch in Kosovo are registered 30 businesses and changes have taken place in 56 businesses, and businesses were closed;
• In the category Agricultural cooperatives are registered 3 businesses;
• In the category Representative Office in Kosovo is registered 1 business.
From February 11, 2019, the Electronic registration system is in operation and is active 24 hours a day, which has enabled to shorten and simplify the procedures and at the same time has enabled start-up businesses to register at no cost. Through this system are performed other services which are provided by KBRA.
In KBRA, now the business is registered for less than two days, in the "Business Service Centre", which operates within the KBRA and in the municipal registration centres "One Stop Shop", where the time for registering a business is shortened.
Business registration and dissolution of business are also free of charge.
