Pursuant to the Decision of the MIET Minister, regarding the engine oils, the Market Inspectorate took samples of engine oils at customs terminals and internal market in which case these samples were tested in accredited laboratories.
Based on the test reports for the samples taken at the customs terminals, it has resulted that 34,600.00 L (thirty four thousand and six hundred litters), engine oils (with different brands), are contrary to the MIET Decision, thus the same have been returned to the country of origin.
Engine oils that have not been allowed to be placed on the domestic market are mainly originating from Serbia and the rest from Turkey and other countries.
Market Inspectorate also during the control in the internal market of the Republic of Kosovo, has seized 2,270.00 L (two thousand two hundred and seventy litters), engine oils which have been placed on the market without documentation on origin, as well as in cases when engine oils have been tested in the laboratory and resulted with discrepancies in composition and quantity stated on the product label.
We reiterate that the process of sampling, testing and verification in an accredited laboratory is at no financial cost to businesses.
MIET respectively Market Inspectorate guarantees responsible consumers and businesses that products that do not meet legal requirements, will not be allowed to circulate in the domestic market of the Republic of Kosovo, all this in the interest of consumer protection, placement of quality products in the market as well as the protection of fair competition in the market.
