In addition to marking the 14th anniversary of the declaration of independence of Kosovo, by government institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, a ceremony of global proportions was held in honour of this day within the “Expo 2020 Dubai”
Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade – Rozeta Hajdari, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development – Faton Peci, Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports – Daulina Osmani, Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to the UAE – Xhabir Hamiti, Minister of Entrepreneurship, Small and Medium Enterprises of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, representatives of UAE institutions and many cultural and economic figures celebrated the Independence Day together at Expo Dubai 2020 .
In honour of this day, activities began with the economic forum, where representatives of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, in front of the audience promoted the appropriate business climate and excellent opportunities that Kosovo offers for foreign investment.
Meanwhile, in the central ceremony, the head of the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo, Minister Rozeta Hajdari, thanking her Emirati counterpart, Ahmand Belhoul Al Falasi, in her welcoming speech said that today Kosovo celebrates the ancient history and culture of its people, the day of the declaration of independence and the eternal desire for progress and prosperity.
"Our government is committed to peace and stability, the rule of law and economic development, as well as good relations with friendly countries around the globe. I am honoured that we are here together with you to celebrate the 14th anniversary of our Republic and the ancient history of our people – as heirs of the Illyrians, the only natives in the Balkans "- said Minister Hajdari.
Minister Hajdari mentioned that the presence of our country in EXPO 2020 Dubai, shows the values of multidisciplinary potentials, the ancient history of our nation, natural resources, cultural heritage, democracy, tolerance and the most important potentials of the new generation: culture, sports, art, innovation and entrepreneurship.
In this context, Minister Hajdari said that it is an extraordinary opportunity – to show our unique history, to promote our common values and to establish connections with governments, businesses, organizations and personalities from the host country and other participating countries.
Minister Hajdari emphasized that we are so proud to see our flag waving among 190 equally treated countries, it is historic for our nation, and we also aim to see our state's presence in other global organizations and events.
Minister Hajdari recalled the time when the UAE together with the allies, in 1999, during the period when Kosovo faced genocide and fought to achieve its freedom, helped Kosovo and its citizens in the most difficult moments.
The Minister of Entrepreneurship Small and Medium Enterprises of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Ahmed bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, said that they are happy to have the opportunity to celebrate together with the delegation from Kosovo, the most important day for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
Representatives of the two countries said that such impressive meetings should be put at the service of economic connections for deepening economic cooperation.
