The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET) has marked the “World Creativity and Innovation Day”, in which case the participants who are also leaders of innovative institutions, have assessed that this creativity with an impact on entrepreneurship is a key factor in the economic development of the country, as well as on the generation of new jobs.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, at the marking ceremony of the World Creativity and Innovation Day, said that the challenges of global and regional development for economic development are increasing. According to him, the traditional economy is facing constant changes and that Innovation is the facilitator for transformational change.
"Global and regional development challenges for economic development are growing and the traditional economy is undergoing radical changes with the use of information and communication technology, through all its components. “The inhabitants of the globe are increasingly looking for solutions for product automation and facilities to receive a service", said Prime Minister Kurti.
Furthermore, he added that Kosovo needs to transform the way it creates, produces and sells its products and services, and that we need creativity to build new products and services, and to find ways to position and sell them.
Prime Minister Kurti further stressed that Kosovo has great potential for the development of innovation, while expressing satisfaction that the new generations in our country, at an accelerated pace are embracing the reality of transformation by focusing on learning about the use of new technologies for the benefit of their well-being.
On the other hand, the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, stressed that innovation and the digital economy are entering the daily activity of enterprises in Kosovo, becoming an important sector of economic development.
"The biggest burden for advancing innovation in entrepreneurship falls on us as the Government through the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, but each of us, from public and private sector, have a responsibility to address and accelerate our joint efforts for faster development of innovation, where we operate. It is essential that such cooperation be intensified, not only on holidays but, every day to think about how with our commitment we can change things for the better and share together the bill of success ", said Minister Hajdari.
According to her, strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship has a multidimensional impact.
"When we say entrepreneur, we automatically think of entrepreneurs who operate in: manufacturing and processing industries, creative industries, art, health, sports, technology and many, many other sectors, who in order to develop their entrepreneurial activities must follow the procedures, rules and instructions of this ministry, thus, this fact made us feel even more responsible ", stressed Minister Hajdari.
According to her, the focus will be on the development of Start-up enterprises, for projects related to the digitalization of services, and this support will be strengthened through the finalization of the policy drafting and law on innovation and entrepreneurship as well as the creation of an innovation fund within MIET.
"When it comes to supporting innovative entrepreneurship, the focus will be on supporting start-up businesses, where priority will be given to projects in the digitalization of services, the creation of prototypes of new or significantly improved products and sectors that will be supported by grant schemes in the coming years, that will be: ICT, environmental protection, creative and processing industry ", said the Minister of MIET, Rozeta Hajdari.
"The latest blockades that are unfortunately following us even now as we speak, the Post Covid 19 period, the war in Ukraine, like most countries, have hit us with unaffordable price increases. And this situation definitely obliges us to be more creative and innovative, to develop a clear legal infrastructure, genuine public policies that promote the development of innovation and entrepreneurship in our Republic "- concluded Minister Hajdari.
Also, on the occasion of this day were organized discussion sessions with businesses and representatives of associations representing the community of innovation and entrepreneurship, representatives of UP and private colleges, on the topic "Innovative and creative economy – the transformation of traditional economy into digital economy”.
Otherwise, the "World Day of Innovation and Creativity" has begun to be celebrated on April 21 in many countries around the world, since 2001, while it was made official in 2017, in order to honour creative and innovative activities.
