The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, together with representatives of the European Union Office in Kosovo and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), yesterday in Drenas Business Park, held the 4th Steering Committee meeting of the program for Supporting the Competitiveness of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Kosovo. This program was created by the EBRD in order to support enterprises in the Republic of Kosovo, to be more competitive in the domestic and international market.
In this Steering Committee meeting were discussed the achievements of the program with 2/3 of the beneficiaries participating in various sectors of local production where 70% of them are contributing to the green agenda. The conclusions of the meeting until next year were focused on the quality infrastructure for value chain development, the circular economy and the green agenda with a focus on medium-sized enterprises, which are guarantors of employment growth and exports.
Among other things, the good business climate in Kosovo was discussed, with competitive advantages of 'near shoring' and indicators of economic growth, rule of law, transparency and high-growth democracy in the Republic of Kosovo.
In Drenas Business Park, Minister Hajdari and members of the Steering Committee were welcomed by the Powerpack business, in which case were closely acquainted with working conditions, successful production process and the business environment of this local manufacturer with exports over 90%.
Minister Hajdari assured that Kurti Government with the governing principles and the program for work and justice, will continue to support the private sector through the advancement of policies, improvement of legislation and supporting instruments, in order to increase the competitiveness of local products, for greater participation in the regional market, European and beyond.
