European Mobility and Safety Day in Kosovo 2022

Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari together with the Minister of Defence, Armend Meha, today participated in the Mobility and Safety Day in Kosovo 2022, a half-day workshop organized by the International Stability Operations Association (ISOA) as a recognized high authority network for stability operations businesses worldwide.

Today's seminar brought together end-users and suppliers of safety-related services and products that were ready to support the requirements of the Kosovo Armed Forces. The workshop presentations provided a recent update on military procurement, military vehicle fleet management, logistics of key military products and defence solutions for vehicles. Industry updates, regional challenges and investment opportunities in Kosovo in various industrial sectors were also discussed.

Minister Armend Meha and Minister Rozeta Hajdari with their speeches, presented the context and climate of doing business and the competitive advantages for near shoring investments in Kosovo as well as potentials for the development and transformation of the local industry. The participants of the seminar were also informed about the indicators of economic growth and the growth of democracy in the Republic of Kosovo for 2021.

Among other things, Minister Hajdari emphasized that our vision and action measures are that Kosovo transforms into a more globally integrated industry in the coming years, while the value chain analyses in different industrial sectors confirm that our people have the production competence and that local businesses will be able to produce products with high added value and provide employment.

Whereas, Minister Meha, with high appreciation for the mission and commitments of ISOA, emphasized that Kosovo is ready to offer all its human, logistical and geostrategic potential with our partners and potential investors to contribute positively to the growth of international peace, development and human security, due to the fact that Kosovo is considered a partner in this mission. He added that through investment in Kosovo, we will jointly contribute to NATO's mission, which is to preserve peace and stability in the country, region and beyond. Cooperation in this direction is also in line with the main goal of our country, which is NATO and EU membership.

Following this, Mr. Howie Lind President for ISOA and Thomas Lampley, Chairman of the KBR & ISOA Governmental Affairs Committee, expressed their commitment to promote and bring to Kosovo a business network for stability and business operations worldwide, with higher operational and ethical standards of active companies with a positive contribution to increasing international peace.

From the business network for stability operations, for potential investments in Kosovo, well-known international companies such as Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Leonardo Helicopters, RMD, Optimum Vehicle Services, Nolte Services, 4Cost, UAW Germany GmbH, E-Tech LLC were present from Kosovo and other representatives, who expressed interest in investments in Kosovo.

The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade will continue to provide support and facilitation to the aforementioned companies interested in investing in the Republic of Kosovo.
