In the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, is signed the Partnership Agreement between Kosovo Investments and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA) and the Professional Association of Kosovo Informaticians (SHPIK) in cooperation with the Austrian Computer Association, with financial support from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
Agreement will contribute to the achievement of goals for further development of innovation and entrepreneurship and the promotion of Kosovo as a destination for 'ICT Outsourcing' and for the easier transfer of knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation and ICT, from Austria and countries of the EU in the Republic of Kosovo.
At the signing ceremony of this agreement, the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, welcomed with high honours the Member of the European Parliament, Lukas Mandl, the Ambassador of Austria in Kosovo, Christoph Weidinger and other Austrian representatives of the innovation sector and information technology.
Minister Hajdari emphasized that for innovation and digital development, Kosovo has a great potential in our youth, while she expressed her satisfaction that our new generations, at an accelerated pace, are embracing the reality of transformation, being oriented towards learning to use new technologies for a bright future for the citizens of our Republic and everywhere in the world. She mentioned the potential of human resources with over 70% of the population under the age of 35 with digital skills and the large number of local businesses in the ICT field with successful provision of services in foreign markets.
With this, she confirmed the statement of the Member of European Parliament, Lukas Mandl, who, during the 5th Digital Summit of the Western Balkans, spoke about excellent digital innovation in Kosovo, as part of his statement 'The Western Balkans as the Silicon Valley of Europe' .
While the Minister recalled Austria's long-term support, especially in the education sector even in our difficult times throughout history, Ambassador Weidinger continued with his speech, and confirmed the long-term friendship between Kosovo and Austria, with continuous Austrian support in higher education and professional education, private sector development, good governance and Euro-Atlantic integration of the Republic of Kosovo.
While the Member of the European Parliament Lukas Mandl expressed his happiness regarding the developments in Kosovo and left the message to believe in the vision for the bright future of Kosovo, emphasizing the competitive advantages and conveying the message about the opportunities ahead, for more visits and investments in Kosovo.
The signing of the Partnership Agreement between the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA) and the Professional Association of Kosovo Informaticians of Kosovo (SHPIK) will increase competitiveness and faster development of innovation and entrepreneurship in the ICT sector.
SHPIK and the Austrian Computer Association with the "Strategic Alliance Project for Strengthening of ICT Skills and Sector in Kosovo" funded by ADA and in partnership with MIET, aims to develop digital skills, promote Kosovo as a near/offshoring destination of ICT, networking within the country and with members of international ICT associations, promoting entrepreneurship skills, supporting start-ups, facilitating foreign direct investment in the ICT field as well as transferring knowledge
