Minister Hajdari participated in the publication of the report “Migration of the labour force of Western Balkans”

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, participated in the publication of the report “Migration of the labour force of Western Balkans, drafted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in cooperation with the Kosovo Investments and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA) funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

In this discussion have participated the representatives of central and local institutions, representatives from the European Union, Switzerland, Austria, international experts, and representatives from economic associations, diaspora associations and non-governmental organizations.

In her speech, Minister Hajdari thanked the representatives and experts from the OECD, for the analysis of migrations for employment reasons in Western Balkans economies and for recommendations, to create a suitable environment for transfers and investments of remittances, to use as much as possible large inflows of remittances and the development of a broad economy program and to promote diaspora investments.

Minister Hajdari mentioned the key role of diaspora, as a vital element of the Republic of Kosova and a strong integral part of the plan of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for sustainable development.

"We see diaspora as human capital before we see it as financial capital. Our diaspora is the most valuable asset in the areas where it resides, because it brings with it not only a great wealth but also human capital, namely knowledge, transfer of knowledge and other vital resources. Thus, they are the driving force of our economy" emphasized Minister Hajdari.

She mentioned the full commitment of Kurti Government to follow all essential measures for creating necessary preconditions so that our diaspora perceives our country not only as a point of origin, but also as a place to do business, to utilize their full potential and become successful development agents for the best of our economy.

She concluded that the Republic of Kosovo is always open to strategic alliances and regional cooperation in areas of mutual benefit, as equal partners, working together with a concrete plan of ongoing action, according to the Berlin Process, to integrate into the Union European.
