The Deputy Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET), Mr. Mentor Arifaj, accompanied by the Consul General of the Republic of Kosovo in Toronto Mr. Kadri Dakaj and Acting General Director of the Kosovo Investments and Enterprise Support Agency, Mr. Zef Dedaj, met with the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade of Ontario, Mr. Stephen Rhodes and his team.
Within the framework of his stay in Toronto, Canada, in addition to the activities at the "COLLISION 2023" conference and various meetings, the Deputy Minister Mr. Arifaj in a meeting with Mr. Rodes, have discussed the possibilities of increased economic cooperation between Kosovo and Ontario.
At this meeting, Mr. Arifaj shared the opportunities and capacities that the Republic of Kosovo has for economic development, highlighting the youth of Kosovo, as the greatest potential and their professional skills in many fields, especially in the information technology sector. Deputy Minister Arifaj also mentioned the presence of Kosovo companies participating in "COLLISION 2023" and their interest in cooperating with Ontario companies.
Deputy Minister Mr. Rhodes, thanked Mr. Arifaj for the interest in increasing cooperation, adding that they are ready to help build new bridges in all economic sectors with Kosovo, and especially in information technology.
Further, Mr. Arifaj and Mr. Rhodes discussed innovation and the exchange of experiences in this field between the two parties, agreeing to remain in constant contact and concretize business interactions in sectors of interest to both parties.
Otherwise, with support of MIET, 7 Kosovo businesses from the Information and Communication Technology sector have participated in the "COLLISION 2023" Conference, which was held in Toronto, Canada.
Within this conference, the deputy minister Mr. Arifaj and his colleagues visited several companies in Canada, providing them with extended information about the general environment of doing business in Kosovo as well as the willingness to increase the collaborative capacities between the companies of our country and those of Canada.
