The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mrs. Rozeta Hajdari, and the Minister of Economy, Mrs. Artane Rizvanolli, accompanied by Deputy Minister of MIET, Mr. Mentor Arifaj, and former Director General of the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA), Mr. Zef Dedaj, received today a delegation of Swedish business representatives who are considering the Republic of Kosovo as a destination with great potential to invest and expand their business plans.
The Swedish delegation was accompanied by the ambassador of Sweden in Kosovo, Mr. Jonas Westerlund, Senior Investment Advisor at the Swedish Investment Promotion Agency “Invest in Skåne”, Mr. Jeton Jasharaj, Chairperson of the Nordic Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, Mrs. Afërdita Ibrahimi and other business representatives-members of this Chamber of Commerce.
During the meeting, the delegation was informed about the opportunities offered by the Republic of Kosovo to foreign investors, as well as the structural reforms and the improvement of the doing business environment in Kosovo, with special emphasis on the advantages of nearshoring for investment and democratic and economic progress.
Discussions also focused on various industrial sectors, including the Industrial Policy, laws and supporting instruments for increasing exports, protecting and facilitating investments, current plans for the construction of industrial and technological parks and the development of the innovative ecosystem.
There were also interactive discussions during the elaboration of successful experiences for creating connections between businesses and the creation of a successful mechanism for supporting innovation through the new Innovation Fund. In addition, it was stressed that the Common Market program, of which Kosovo is now a part, will enable businesses to have close cooperation and establish bridges with businesses of European countries.
Finally, the Swedish businesses expressed their good impressions about the business environment in Kosovo with high regard for talented young people and also expressed their willingness to invest in our country, considering the many opportunities offered to them both in terms of legal and tax facilities and the use of human resources.
