Today, the SWISS BAU 2024 International Fair, in Basel, Switzerland, opened its doors to visitors, where Kosovar companies are exhibiting their wood and construction products

The fair commenced with the visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Albin Kurti, and the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mrs Rozeta Hajdari, to local businesses, where the commitment of the Government of Kosovo to the support of the private sector, in particular for producers with export potential, was emphasized.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Kurti said that the progress in democracy and governance and institutional stability is reflected in the significant increase in exports and foreign investments.

Meanwhile, Minister Hajdari emphasized that the wood industry is one of the strategic sectors for the economic development of the Republic of Kosovo because it has the potential to increase internal benefits from the use of local resources and is among the only industrial sectors that have a positive contribution to the growth of innovation and to the reduction of trade deficit.

Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Hajdari, highly appreciating the ongoing contribution of the diaspora, called for their potential investments to be headed to Kosovo, assuring them of the opportunities and advantages provided through the reforms undertaken by the Government, which protect and treat diaspora and foreign investments equally.

The Swiss Bau fair will take place until 19 January 2023 at Messeplatz, Hall 1.1, Booth no. A60, B60 and A90, Basel, Switzerland, where 12 local companies, supported by the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA), are exhibiting their products.
