On this occasion, Minister Rozeta Hajdari said that Metrology has a wide and deep impact on our daily life, adding that metrology ensures that measurements are accurate and reliable in various fields, such as science and technology, international trade, health and environment.
For our country, metrology is one of the main pillars of the quality system, together with standardization and accreditation, in order for Kosovo to be a successful country in the development and support of businesses that will be able to compete in the internal and external market, we are working towards creating an efficient metrology system, in accordance with EU legislation for product safety and quality infrastructure, such as European procedures of standardization, metrology, accreditation and conformity assessment, Minister Hajdari emphasized.
While deputy General Director of the Kosovo Metrology Agency, Avdullah Jasiqi, presented the achievements for 2023 and the plan of activities of KMA.
Among the KMA activities developed during 2023 are:
Full activation of the laboratory of length and dimensional measurements funded by the Government.
793 calibrations of measuring instruments in calibration laboratories at KMA during 2023.
6577 verifications of legally controlled measuring instruments by the verification laboratories of KMA (including verifications of fuel sales points, scales, wights, quantitative control of prepackages and bottles such as measuring containers, electric meters, radars)
5884 verified tachographs, from the bodies appointed to provide metrological services to verify the accuracy of Tachographs.
Within the framework of the conference, a fruitful panel discussion was held, composed of Lieutenant Colonel Jeton Rexhepi, Director of the Road Traffic Division, General Directorate of the Kosovo Police, Prof. Dr. Sefer Avdiaj member of the Metrology Council, Mr. Blerim Halabaku Quality Manager at KMA, Mrs. Hajrije Morina Regulatory Authority for Water Services, Mr. Gent Lajqi RRONIFER GROUP LLC, and Mrs. Agnesa Ramadani KIenzle – laboratory appointed to verify the accuracy of Tachographs.
Consensus in the panel discussions was the recognition of the high importance of metrology and the creation of new collaborations between the KMA and public and private institutions.
