At the invitation of the Ambassador of Italy in Kosovo, Antonello De Riu, the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mrs. Rozeta Hajdari, participated in the ceremony of handing over technical equipment for mountain search and rescue and of signing agreements for the creation of mountain search and rescue stations, which are part of the project “NaturKosovo – the natural and cultural capital in Kosovo and the sustainable tourist development of the Via Dinarica”.
The equipment was taken over by the representatives of the Mountain Search and Rescue Service of Kosovo, which is a branch of the Kosovo Mountaineering And Sports Climbing Federation.
Subsequently, agreements were signed for the creation of 3 mountain search and rescue stations, with the three municipalities of Pejë, Junik and Deçan, strategically located in cases of emergencies near the entry points to the Kosovar Via Dinarica trail, which will serve for the storage of equipment and as a logistical base for rescue teams.
Thus, upon thanking the Italian Government for the support provided, Minister Hajdari emphasized that these agreements will affect the development and improvement of mountain and adventure tourism in our country.
The support provided for the 3 municipalities and the Mountain Search and Rescue Service of Kosovo with search and rescue equipment will help guarantee the safety of all visitors and adventurers who choose to explore the beauties of our country, Minister Hajdari said.
In addition, the Minister said that this support is vital to developing the capacities of the Republic of Kosovo to welcome tourists with the highest safety standards and to promote Kosovo as a sustainable and safe tourist destination.
"NaturKosovo" is a project financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation with the support of the Italian Embassy in Prishtina, and is carried out by Volontari nel MondoRTM and CELIM Milano, in cooperation with the Italian Alpine Club, the Italian National Corps of Alpine and Speleological Rescue, The Italian Association for Responsible Tourism and the Utalaya Foundation.
