The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, has signed the decision to establish a new daily maximum price mechanism for petroleum products, which will enter into force on 05.04.2026.
This decision comes as a result of the continuous analysis of the derivatives market, through import data and monitoring of price movements in the international market, as well as assessments by market supervisory institutions.
Based on this mechanism, the Ministry will publish every day, no later than 10:00, the maximum price allowed for the sale of fuels in the domestic market, which will be based on the average of updated imports of 10 million liters for diesel and 1 million liters for other fuels.
For 05.04.2026, the maximum allowed prices are as follows:
• Petroleum (diesel): 1.86 euros/liter;
• Gasoline: 1.49 euros/liter.
This decision aims to ensure a fairer and more unified approach to the market, avoiding sudden and unreasonable price fluctuations at the retail level.
The Ministry emphasizes that no economic operator is allowed to exceed the published maximum daily price. To implement this decision, field supervision will be increased by the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate, in cooperation with Kosovo Customs and the Kosovo Tax Administration, and in coordination with the Competition Authority of the Republic of Kosovo.
MIETI calls on all economic operators to strictly implement the new decision, in order to guarantee a functional, stable market and in the interest of the consumer. These measures are not intended to harm or sanction any entity. They are designed to ensure equality in the market, to protect the consumer and to reflect increased caution in a sensitive period of fluctuations and uncertainties in the global oil derivatives markets.
Violations of this decision will be handled in accordance with the legislation in force.
