After laboratory verification at the Kosovo Metrology Agency of the first meters, these main findings were concluded:
• It was confirmed that the meters had expired validity;
• Date-related deviations of about 2–3 days compared to the real time were identified;
• It was also found that there are deviations of about 10–11 hours compared to the real time;
• The electricity measurement was found to be in order and without impact on the accuracy of the recorded consumption;
• It was found that the fuse were intact and without damage.
Upon receiving the report of findings, MIETI will officially request from ERO (Energy Regulatory Office) to take measures in accordance with the deviations found. Meanwhile, based on Law no. 06/L-037, Article 23, paragraphs 4 and 5, as well as Article 46, paragraph 1.3, subparagraph 1.3.2, the Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance (CIMS) will impose punitive fines against KEDS, as the owner and user of the meters, for any finding related to the expired validity period of the meters.
For your information, we confirm that the Department of Consumer Protection, until 30.03.2026, has not received any complaints from consumers regarding electricity meters. Meanwhile, after the establishment of the Verification Commission, in the last two days alone, 209 complaints have been received by this department, for which the commission is conducting verification.
MIETI remains committed to handling every consumer complaint, based on facts, and will take legal measures in accordance with the verification findings.
The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, specifically the Department for Consumer Protection, calls on all citizens to submit their complaints to the email konsumatori@rks-gov.net, by attaching your phone number and residential address, so that verification can be completed as quickly as possible.
