The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, participated in the 55th edition of the St. Gallen Symposium 2026 in Switzerland, one of the most important international forums that brings together leaders from politics, economics and academia to discuss global developments and challenges that are affecting economies and societies around the world.
This year’s forum theme, Disrupted Age, addressed global transformations in the fields of geopolitics, technology and demographic changes, while Minister Kusari-Lila, at this forum, emphasized the importance of Kosovo’s participation in such international discussions to present the country’s perspective and strengthen Kosovo’s role in global and economic processes.
Within the framework of this visit to Switzerland, Minister Kusari-Lila also held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Finance of the Swiss Confederation, Karin Keller-Sutter, with whom she discussed the advancement of economic and development cooperation between Kosovo and Switzerland.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement with the EFTA countries is expected to increase trade exchanges and intensify economic cooperation between the two countries. The development of industrial infrastructure in Kosovo, the promotion of investments and the importance of partnership with friendly countries for the economic and industrial development of the country were also discussed.
During this visit, Minister Kusari-Lila also appreciated the role of the Kosovar diaspora in Switzerland and its contribution to strengthening economic ties between the two countries, emphasizing that industrial development and strengthening local production remain important for building a more sustainable and competitive economy.
As part of the St. Gallen Symposium, Minister Kusari-Lila also participated in the panel discussion on the topic “Power Politics versus Power Politics – Preserving Strategic Interests in a New World”, which included former US Ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craft, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Kęstutis Budrys and Namibian Minister of Information, Communications and Technology, Emma Theofelus.
