In a panel with Siemens and BMZ, Minister Kusari-Lila presents Kosovo’s industrial transformation

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, participated in a panel discussion in Germany, where the role of political decisions in shaping the future of European industry was addressed.

At the panel, Minister Kusari-Lila discussed together with representatives from Siemens, Flaconi and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), presenting Kosovo’s priorities in industrial and economic development.

She emphasized that Kosovo is moving from traditional industrial models towards an innovative, sustainable and value-added industry, with a focus on the development of modern production and green investments.

According to her, one of the main projects in this regard are the Eco-Industrial Parks supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the World Bank, which she described as unique initiatives in the Western Balkans.

Minister Kusari-Lila also mentioned the new credit guarantee scheme for women entrepreneurs, as well as the institutional commitment to the inclusion of women in STEM fields, as part of policies for inclusive development.

She announced that during the discussion, Siemens representatives expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in Kosovo even before the country’s membership in the European Union.

The panel also discussed Germany’s support through investment and economic development instruments, including DEG Invest, the “Trade Connect” initiative, as well as programs related to the rule of law, climate sustainability, and vocational education.

Minister Kusari-Lila assessed that economic partnerships between Kosovo and Germany are deepening, while the country’s industrial transformation is continuing towards sustainable development and European integration.
