The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, visited the “GreenHouse” factory in Zahaq, Peja, on the eve of its official opening, evaluating this investment as an important example of the development of the manufacturing and export industry in Kosovo.
The “GreenHouse” factory, founded by Nazmi Mehmetaj and Visar Rexhepaj, is the result of many years of experience gained in Switzerland, where the founders have practiced the same professional activity. With confidence in the economic potential of Kosovo, they have decided to invest in their homeland and bring their families back to live and build the future in Kosovo.
This investment, launched in 2015, today has approximately 40 employees, including employed women, while the majority of the workforce comes from the Peja region, directly influencing local economic development and the creation of new jobs.
During the visit, it was emphasized that the factory is equipped with modern technology, robotics and modern production machines. The raw material is imported from Germany and Austria, while processing and production are carried out in Kosovo.
The company’s products are already exported to several European countries, including Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Iceland and the Netherlands, while there has also been interest from the American market.
Minister Kusari-Lila announced that MIETI has supported the company in participating in European fairs, which have helped in creating new sales contracts and expanding international markets for its products.
Currently, the company’s production capacity reaches up to two wooden houses per day, reflecting the continuous growth of the business and the potential of the manufacturing industry in Kosovo.
Minister Kusari-Lila emphasized that MIETI will continue to support local businesses, with the aim of strengthening local production, increasing exports and promoting Kosovo as a safe and attractive place for investment.
