A fine of EUR 25 thousand is imposed against KEDS regarding the usage of meters with expired verification period

The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MIETI), through the Kosovo Metrology Agency (KMA) and the Central Inspectorate of Market Supervision, has continued the activities of supervision and verification of electricity meters in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

During the recently conducted controls, five (5) electricity meters with expired metrological verification were identified, for which the economic operator KEDS was fined EUR 25 thousand.

MIETI and KMA emphasize that the verifications will continue in the coming days, in order to guarantee the accurate measurement of electricity consumption, protect consumer rights and respect the legal and metrological standards in force.

The responsible institutions remain committed to ensuring that every electricity meter in use is verified and in accordance with legal requirements, guaranteeing transparency and reliability in the electricity measurement process.
