CIMS continues action against cryptocurrency businesses and exchange offices – two more businesses shut down

The Central Inspectorate for Market Surveillance (IQMT), in cooperation with the Tax Administration of Kosovo (ATK), has continued today the implementation of the operational inspection plan targeting businesses operating in the field of cryptocurrencies and exchange offices throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.

During today’s action, 14 inspections were carried out. As a result of the controls, two more businesses were closed due to the lack of the necessary documentation required to conduct their activities, while two businesses were fined for failing to comply with working hours.

CIMS reminds that every economic operator conducting activities in this sector is obliged to fulfil all legal requirements, by obtaining approval for the minimum technical conditions from the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET), as well as the relevant license from the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), in accordance with the applicable legislation.

The Central Inspectorate for Market Surveillance remains committed to enforcing the law and ensuring a regulated, transparent, and safe market.
