For all manufacturing businesses, markets and other entities that trade dairy products.
The Central Inspectorate of Market Supervision (CIMS) calls on all manufacturing businesses of dairy products, markets and any other entity that trades dairy products, to immediately withdraw from the market all products found to be non-compliant, according to the official reports of the Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV), no. 4942, dated 27.07.2026, and no. 5203, dated 10.08.2026.
CIMS, within the framework of the competencies defined by Law No. 08/L-279 on the Central Inspectorate of Market Supervision, respectively Article 9, paragraphs 5 and 6, from today will intensify inspections on all entities that trade these products.
Any business in which, during the inspection, the presence of non-compliant dairy products is found, which have not been withdrawn from the market according to the inspector’s requests, will be subject to punitive measures, in accordance with Article 14, paragraph 1, point 1.1 of Law No. 08/L-279.
PUNITIVE PROVISIONS
According to Article 14 of Law No. 08/L-279:
“A fine in the amount of three thousand (3,000) to nine thousand (9,000) euros shall be imposed on the legal person who:
- 1.1. does not eliminate the irregularities found by the inspector within the deadline specified in the minutes and does not act according to the request of the inspector, in accordance with Article 9, paragraph 5. of the Law on Central Inspectorate of Market Supervision”.
CIMS emphasizes that failure to withdraw from the market products found to be non-compliant, including products with undeclared content, constitutes a violation of legal requirements and violates the interests and rights of consumers.
Therefore, the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MIETI), through CIMS, will further intensify market inspections, in order to protect consumers and guarantee compliance with legal requirements.
CIMS calls on all businesses to act immediately and responsibly, by withdrawing from the market products identified as non-compliant and by respecting all requirements of the competent authorities.
Consumer protection and product safety on the market are a shared responsibility.
