The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, received in a meeting the representatives of the GAP Institute, Blendi Hasaj, and Nora Latifi Jashari, with whom she discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the framework of the MIETI reform agenda and the contribution that the Institute can give through its expertise.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the policies of the European Union related to the Carbon Border Regulation Mechanism (CBAM), as well as the need to raise the awareness of businesses in Kosovo about the obligations arising from this mechanism, especially in the monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) processes. In this regard, the cooperation between MIETI, chambers of commerce and the GAP Institute was also discussed.
The parties also discussed the involvement of the GAP Institute and other civil society organizations in the drafting and review of development strategies in the fields of industry, entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as opportunities to strengthen cooperation with international partners.
Minister Kusari-Lila stressed that cooperation between public institutions, civil society and the private sector is essential for advancing reforms, increasing the competitiveness of the economy and accelerating Kosovo’s European integration process.
