The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MIETI), Mimoza Kusari-Lila, received senior representatives of TEB Bank Kosova, Deputy General Manager, Deniz Tor, and Director of the Banking Operations Division, Özenç Alkan Aşık, with whom she discussed the role of the banking sector in supporting Kosovo’s economic development.
During the meeting, the importance of strengthening cooperation between public institutions and the financial sector to improve businesses’ access to finance, especially manufacturing enterprises and service providers, as sectors with high potential for increasing exports and narrowing the trade deficit was emphasized.
Minister Kusari-Lila stressed that the meeting addressed opportunities for closer cooperation with the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, the Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund, chambers of commerce and business associations, aimed at creating more effective financial instruments for the private sector.
An important part of the meeting, according to the Minister, was dedicated to programs to support new businesses (start-ups) and women entrepreneurs, as well as preparations for the Regional Conference on Women in Business, which will be organized in October in cooperation with the G7. In this regard, opportunities for the inclusion of the banking sector in this initiative were also discussed.
Minister Kusari-Lila reiterated that she is committed to continuing communication and deepening cooperation to advance Kosovo’s economic development agenda.
