Minister Kusari-Lila met with KCSF representatives, discussing cooperation to advance reforms and transparency

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, hosted representatives of the Kosovo Civil Society Foundation (KCSF), the Executive Director, Dren Puka, and the Grants Director, Edona Krasniqi, with whom she discussed strengthening cooperation between public institutions and civil society organizations.

During the meeting, the importance of civil society involvement in the development of public policies was discussed, with particular emphasis on improving public consultation processes, with the aim of increasing transparency, accountability and the quality of decision-making.

Minister Kusari-Lila requested the support and expertise of KCSF in advancing the regulatory framework for MIETI grant schemes, building on the organization’s experience in implementing schemes funded by international donors. The goal is to build a more efficient, transparent and results-oriented system through which to identify and support businesses with the potential to replace imported products and services, as well as to increase their presence in international markets.

Also, during the meeting, the KCSF’s engagement in drafting bylaws for the functionalization of the Beneficial Owners Registry was discussed, as an important mechanism for increasing transparency in the private sector and approximation with European Union standards.

Minister Kusari-Lila emphasized that cooperation with civil society organizations remains an important part of the institutional reform plan of the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation.
