Minister Kusari-Lila hosted representatives of the WB and IFC in a meeting

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, hosted representatives of the World Bank (WB) and IFC, led by Carole Megevand, manager for Kosovo and North Macedonia.

The meeting discussed Kosovo’s involvement in a regional project, which focuses on supporting businesses towards advancing corporate governance standards.

The point of discussion was also the current situation that access for Kosovar businesses to international markets is being facilitated, especially in the services sector with the entry into force of the EFTA agreement this week, corporate governance standards are an important prerequisite.

During the meeting, it was announced that two MIETI agencies: the Business Registration Agency (KBRA) and the new Agency for Innovation and Enterprise Support (KIESA), in coordination with the Kosovo Council for Financial Reporting (KCFR), will have a key role in the implementation of this project, which is funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).

Minister Kusari-Lila emphasized the fact that in addition to the current project for the development of Eco-Industrial Parks, this new initiative in the field of corporate governance further deepens the cooperation of our ministry with the World Bank and IFC, which we see as very important partners in the implementation of reforms.
