Bernard Nikaj

Bernard Nikaj (1978) is a candidate for PhD in Public Governance at the University of the Maastrichtit; post graduate studies (MSC) he has completed in Management Information System at the London School of Economics (LSE), as a beneficiary of the Chevening Scholarship from British Foreign Affairs Office, while base studies has completed in the Faculty of Economics, University of Pristina. From 2009, he is lecturing on the Project Management and Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Electric and Computer Engineering, University of Pristina.
Mr. Nikaj worked as Senior Political Advisor and Chief of Cabinet to the Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and the Minister for Trade and Industry.
Mr.Nikaj has an experience from many years on projects that aim development of the public sector. He was engaged as consultant under the technical assistant projects funded by the European Union, World Bank, USAID and DIFID, with particular emphasize on economic and financial aspects of governance. He also has an experience with the Ministry of Finance where he has worked on budgetary planning, audit and internal financial control reforms, the organization and functioning of the economic sector within the government structures and public administration reform at national and international level. Furthermore, he was engaged in Civil Society Initiatives for use of information technology to improve transparency and accountability of governance process. He worked with start-up companies where he gained an experience in new technologies.
Minister Nikaj lives in Pristina with his wife Rozafa and two kids, Rroni and Gjini.
