Mrs. Hykmete N. Bajrami is appointed the Minister of Trade and Industry in December 2014. Initially, Mrs. Bajrami was elected as MP in the IV legislature of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, whereby, she served as member of the Committee on Budget and Finance. In June 2014, she was re-elected as MP of the V legislature of the Assembly of Kosovo.

Since 2007, Mrs. Bajrami was active member of Council of Experts from Democratic League of Kosovo, focusing primarily on economic issues. Mrs.

Bajrami has a long experience in international and local organizations. In the period between 2000 and 2002, she worked for the Department of Trade and Industry – EU/UNMIK Pillar IV.

During 2003-2007, she worked for Kosovo Trust Agency, to continue further with Swedish International Development Agency until 2009. In 2010, Mrs. Bajrami worked as Advisor to World Bank, in the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Mrs. Bajrami graduated, in 2000, Faculty of Economy, University of Prishtina, in the field of "Management and Informatics", whereby she was granted a scholarship from "Xhavit Ahmeti" foundation as well as the prize "Outstanding student" from the University of Prishtina.

Mrs. Hykmete Bajrami completed Master degree in Stafordshire University, England, in 2003 as the scholarship of "OSI Staffordshire University FCO". In 2006 she began her PhD at University of Prishtina, Faculty of Economy, whereby graduated in 2011. Mrs.

Bajrami has been a member of the academic staff of the Faculty of Economy, University of Prishtina, since 2004.

Mrs. Bajrami is married, and is mother of two daughters.
