The Inter-Ministerial Commission for Strategic Investments held today the second consecutive meeting, where the requests of some strategic investors to invest in Kosovo were discussed, as well as other issues related to the law on strategic investments.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Vesel Krasniqi, in the capacity of the Chairperson of this Commission, emphasized that the priority of the ministry he leads is the review of all requests for strategic investments in Kosovo.
Also, Minister Krasniqi informed the members of this Commission that so far 30 applicants have applied to obtain the status of strategic investor in Kosovo.
According to Minister Krasniqi, the Ministry of Trade and Industry will be at the service of all investors by creating conditions and facilities to invest their capital in our country.
The meeting also reviewed the recommendation of the Operational Commission for the subject "Kosmote Foods" for which interpretation will be required by the Legal Office of the Prime Minister and then will be decided on the approval of the request for strategic investment.
Also, the participants were informed about the progress of the work of the Operational Group for the review and evaluation of the application file for the subject "Unitas Energy", where it was announced that the case is in the waiting phase.
Also, at the meeting it was decided to form two new operational groups, which will consider the requests of two other strategic investors: "MOXIKO-LUMA KOSOVO LLC" and "HILL ROME LTD".
At the end of this meeting, the need for changes in the Law on Foreign Investments was emphasized, due to the risk of possible lawsuits in arbitration, where there was concern that Kosovo is losing millions from these lawsuits.
