The 5th Meeting of the Austria-Kosovo Joint Economic Commission was held within the program of the Kosovo-Austria Economic Forum, at the invitation of the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade and in co-chairing with the Austrian Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs.
This meeting was held in a warm atmosphere of cordiality and mutual understanding, co-chaired by the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari and by the Head of the Group for Foreign Economic Relations, Franz Wessig – Delegate from the Austrian Federal Minister for Digital and Economic Affairs, Margarete Schramböck, reflecting the desire and determination of both parties to find workable and efficient solutions for the development and further intensification of bilateral relations in different sectors of their economies.
During the session both sides discussed various issues of common interest and identified sectors / projects promising for further economic cooperation in: bilateral trade, business transfer "near shoring" and Foreign Direct Investment, quality infrastructure, innovation and entrepreneurship, environment, digitalization and vocational education and training.
On the same day, co-organized by KIESA and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, a B2B networking meeting was held between 16 Austrian businesses and 40 local businesses and the next meeting on the topic of railway infrastructure with the participation of advanced businesses in this field and with expression of interest for investments in the Republic of Kosovo.
