Acting Minister of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Avni Kastrati, hosted Slovenian Ambassador in Kosovo Miljan Majhen, who was accompanied with the representative of Slovenian business company “ETI Elektroelement” d.d., Mr. Tomaz Bergins and Mr. Bernard Mlakar.
Initially, Acting Minister Avni Kastrati have inform the guests about the trade and industry developments in Kosovo and about the doing business opportunities. He also told them that Kosovo has established a favourable investment climate already. “A favourable investment climate, low tax regime for the businesses, potential with the labour market, a liberal market which makes possible to trade their products in to Europe, as well as Kosovo’s geographic and strategic position should encourage Slovenian businessman and other investors to invest in Kosovo”, stated Acting Minister Avni Kastrati.
Mr Kastrati pointed out that the Kosovo institutions, especially the Ministry of Trade and Industry is engaged permanently to create opportunities and safety for foreign investments, by regulating market through fair competition, eliminating the phenomena of fabrication and misuse of goods.
Slovenian Ambassador in Kosovo, Miljan Majhen, pointed out the fact the Slovenian and Kosovo institutions are working on intensifying further cooperation in many areas, in particularly in increasing reciprocal investments in both states. “We already have started to deepen our economic cooperation by initiating Kosovo-Slovenian commerce representatives to creation join sectors for deepening economic partnership between our two countries”, said Slovenian Ambassador Majhen, adding that both countries intentions are to increase collaboration in other areas as well.
While, the representatives of Slovenian company “ETI Elektroelement” d.d. expressed their concern in regard to fabrications of their company products as electrical protective fuses that are coming from China, for what is said that can be found everywhere in Kosovo market. Entering of those fabricated products into Kosovo market first harms the Kosovo consumers, because such a product presents potential risk due to their non effectiveness in case of any hazard situations. “Fabricated electrical protective fuses, besides being a potential hazardous to people, they affect in damaging the company reputation and harming its business activity in Kosovo”, stated ETI Elektroelement the company president, Tomas Bergins.
In regard to this concern, Acting Minister Kastrati have ensured his guest that all measures will be taken by Market Surveillance Body, which operates under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Kosovo Customs by coordinating their actions in order to prevent any falsification or any misuse of products that might enter Kosovo territory and that are hazardous for consumer usage.
Ministry of Trade and Industry is permanently supporting business developments, thus by felicitating administrative procedures for normal functioning of business and by creating favourable conditions for investments.
