Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate of MIET confiscates counterfeit goods

The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, through the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate, is today conducting a joint action with Kosovo Customs and Police in three regions (Prishtina, Prizren and Gjakova) with the aim of protecting consumers from fraud and counterfeiting.

During these joint inspections, various goods were identified and were confiscated since the owners of the economic entities did not present their documents of origin.

The amount of confiscated products so far is over 800 pieces (various products) as well as 350 grams of precious metals (silver)

In addition, 3 economic entities were temporarily closed by the market inspectors because they did not enable the inspectors to perform their official work.

MIET remains committed to combating informality in all sectors of trade in goods and services, to protect consumer rights, to eliminate unfair trade practices and to guarantee the legality of the circulation of goods and services in the market. The action is still continuing in the Region of Prizren and Gjakova.
