Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Economy, Employment, Trade, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Investments, Lulzim Syla, based on the order issued by the Minister Rozeta Hajdari has drafted an emergency plan for the situation created by the Coruna virus.

Therefore, based on this plan, inspectors are monitoring the market outside of the business hours, to monitor prices on the market, with particular emphasis on food and hygiene products, checking whether prices have increased.

Chief Inspector Syla said that after many complaints received by the consumers about price increases, the Market Inspectorate has started to implement the order issued by Minister Rozeta Hajdari by sending trade inspectors in the field.

“Today, I have officially communicated with all the directors of the municipal inspectorates to jointly rank and develop the action for implementing the order of the minister. The inspectorate will check and monitor all businesses that are selling food and hygiene products, therefore in case there are price rises the severe penalties will take place,”Syla said.

Likewise, the chief inspector has informed the public that from today additional controls with extended working hours will take place to keep all Economic Operators under control.

"I urge businesses not to raise product prices and to not use Corona virus for material benefit," said Syla.
