The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MIETI), through the Central Inspectorate of Market Supervision (CIMS), is conducting inspection actions aimed at preventing and combating the illegal sale of electronic cigarettes to minors.
During the first part of June 2026, inspections have focused mainly on businesses operating near schools and dealing with the sale of electronic cigarettes.
The inspections have been carried out in the municipalities of Prishtina, Prizren, Gjilan, Vushtrri, Ferizaj and Viti, where inspectors have verified compliance with Law No. 04/L-156 on Tobacco Control regarding the sale of tobacco products and similar products
Violations identified during these inspections are in the treatment procedure and will be pursued according to the relevant legal provisions.
Meanwhile, the CIMS will continue with similar inspection activities throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
MIETI remains committed to protecting public health, especially that of young people, as well as to implementing Law No. 04/L-156 on Tobacco Control, placing special emphasis on protecting minors from accessing products that may harm their well-being.
