Today, the Investigation Unit of the Special Prosecutor’s Office appeared at the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, by order of the prosecutor Valdet Gashi, to check the offices of two senior officials of MINT, the Director of the Department for State Reserves, Mr. Hafiz Gara and the Director of the Department for European Integration, Mr. Irfan Lipovica. Furthermore, the Special Prosecutor’s Office has announced that the case is being investigated by them.
The Ministry of Industry, Enterprise and Trade welcomes any investigation into the case of the purchase of the state reserve although we are convinced that the state supplies and reserves are in accordance with the laws and the plan, and no harm or damage has occurred to them.
For a long time and especially in the last few months, great efforts have been made to misinform the public in our country on this issue. Motives and reasons for these actions instigated and coordinated by different interested parties should also be part of the investigation in this case.
The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade expects the investigation bodies to keep in mind that, in addition to the investigative work, they do not, under any circumstance, harm the state security, as long as it is about the state reserve of our Republic, classified according to the Law on the State Reserve Goods and the Law on Protection of Classified Information.
The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade called on the media to refrain from unconfirmed statements by the ministry, and ensures that the process of supplying goods to the State Reserve, with defined quality standards and parameters, has been handled and monitored according to the legislation in force.
The Ministry is committed to carry on with the increase of the State Reserve this year as well, according to the Law on Budgetary Appropriations for the Budget of the Republic of Kosovo for the year 2023, in order to ensure that citizens have state support in overcoming situations of potential crisis.
