During routine inspections conducted by the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate, irregularities were found in some economic entities regarding their failure to comply with the declared weight of their products.
The issue specifically involves a particular date product, as the sale of 49,352 packages of this product has been prohibited.
Market inspectors in cooperation with Metrology officials, found that date products weighing 550 grams and 600 grams do not meet the declared weight as stated on the packaging. Additionally, they fail to meet the criteria for average weight and content as indicated on the label.
As a result, economic entities are required to take necessary actions to eliminate these irregularities, specifically by declaring the correct weight of products. Punitive measures have been taken in each case in accordance with current legislation.
The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade through the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate remains dedicated to consumer protection and ensuring fair competition in the market of the Republic of Kosovo.
