The enhanced surveillance has primarily focused on machinery products, personal protective equipment, children’s toys, as well as other categories of products which, by virtue of their intended use, may pose a potential risk to the health and safety of consumers.

As a result of on-site inspections, CMSI market inspectors have identified and withdrawn from the market a number of products deemed unsafe for use. These products have been seized in accordance with the applicable legislation due to the absence of the required technical documentation and the expiry of their validity period.

The seized products are as follows:

• Drilling machines – 13 units;

• Angle grinders – 5 units;

• Metal and concrete cutting discs – 426 units;

• High-visibility safety vests – 251 units;

• Safety helmets (protective headgear) – 114 units;

• Welding masks – 176 units;

• Paints and varnishes – 11 units;

• Children’s toys – 931 units.

IQMT remains committed to ensuring a safe marketplace and safeguarding consumer health, while calling upon all economic operators to comply with applicable standards and legal requirements concerning product safety.

Furthermore, CMSI invites citizens to report any suspected cases of unsafe products.
