For the first time in the Republic of Kosovo, the conditions for economic operators who exercise car rental activities have been defined.
The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, today signed the Administrative Instruction on Business Organizations which defines the conditions and criteria of providing car rental services.
According to this instruction, business organizations that provide car rental services are obliged, among others, to register in the tourism register in accordance with the requirements of the Administrative Instruction on Tourism Register within 30 days after the day they start exercising the activity.
Further, the new Administrative Instruction provides that car rental service providers need to conclude contracts every time they provide rented cars, and all vehicles should be registered and ensured the entire time, in line with the relevant legislation on mandatory insurance from vehicle liability.
Operators are also obliged to have at least 10 (ten) vehicles appropriate for driving.
This administrative instruction enters into force 7 days after publication in the Official Gazette and will be overseen by the Market Inspectorate within MIET.
