The Consumer Protection Council today held its fifth meeting during this year. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the implementation surveillance report of Consumer Protection Program 2016-2020, as well as to draft the Annual Report 2019 of the Consumer Protection Council.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of various government institutions, regulators, and non-governmental organizations. Likewise, the representatives of the European Commission Project "Free Movement of Goods” FMG have also participated as observers.
From the discussions of the participants, it was decided that relevant institutions involved in this program, draft the final report at the end of the year on the implementation of the objectives set forth in the Consumer Protection Program 2016-2020. To this end, the Council has unanimously decided, since FOL movement and GAP institute are members of this Council, to prepare a request to be sent to the relevant institutions for reporting on the implementation of the Consumer Protection Program, they will also and will also perform data collection on the final report, to be prepared by the Consumer Protection Council.
At the meeting, the current situation in the field of consumer protection was also discussed, in specific areas such as: energy sector, fuel sector and financial sector and various vital sectors for consumers.
At the end it has been discussed about the possibilities of assisting at donor organizations, so that when applying consumer protection organizations to different donor funds, supportive and easier forms of support could be found to support these organizations.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry will continuously engage in customer support.
